Focused pharmaceutical identity
JPBS focuses on pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical formulation, drug delivery, pharmaceutical technology, biopharmaceutics and related fields. The editorial focus is deliberately defined to provide a specialised home for pharmaceutical research.
From formulation to therapeutic performance
The journal particularly values research that establishes a meaningful link between pharmaceutical design and biological or therapeutic outcomes. The emphasis extends beyond formulation development to how pharmaceutical systems affect drug performance, efficacy, safety, bioavailability and clinical relevance.
Rigorous and constructive peer review
Manuscripts undergo double-anonymised peer review by researchers with relevant subject expertise. Reviews are intended not only to assess scientific quality but also to provide constructive recommendations that strengthen the manuscript. Reviewer and author identities are withheld from each other; editors still see identities in order to manage conflicts.
Editorially independent decisions
Editorial decisions are based on scientific quality, methodological rigour, originality, relevance and the work’s contribution to the pharmaceutical sciences. Those decisions are made independently of commercial considerations, institutional status, nationality or other non-scientific factors.
Scientific quality over publication volume
JPBS prioritises the quality and integrity of the scientific record over maximising the number of published articles. The journal seeks research that provides reliable evidence, transparent methodology and a meaningful contribution to the field.
Open access and global accessibility
Published articles are immediately and freely accessible under CC BY 4.0. There is no embargo. Until the journal publishes an article processing charge, no APC is billed.
A professional editorial process
The journal aims to give authors a clear, professional and respectful publishing experience. Editorial and reviewer comments are communicated so that authors can respond to substantive scientific concerns and strengthen the manuscript.
Commitment to research integrity
JPBS upholds standards for authorship, plagiarism, research ethics, data integrity, conflicts of interest, peer-review confidentiality and the responsible use of artificial intelligence. Policy follows recognised principles of scholarly publishing, including COPE guidance. The journal is not listed here as a member of any organisation it has not joined.
Transparent and responsible publishing
When necessary, the journal will publish corrections, expressions of concern or retractions. Publication means a stable article page, issue assignment and a DOI once one is registered. Nothing is invented ahead of that. JPBS does not advertise an Impact Factor or CiteScore it has not been awarded.
