Acceptance and permitted use
By using JPBS you agree to use the site lawfully and in a way that does not interfere with editorial work, security, availability, or the rights of authors, reviewers and readers. Public material may be read and cited subject to the licence and attribution stated on each record.
Accounts
Account holders must provide accurate information, protect their credentials, and promptly report suspected unauthorized access. A user must not impersonate another person, create deceptive identities, share a restricted editorial account, or attempt to obtain material beyond the role assigned to that account.
Submissions and licences
Authors retain rights except to the extent granted through the submission and publication process. Uploading a manuscript confirms that the user is authorized to submit it and that third-party material is identified and lawfully used. Submission does not guarantee review, acceptance, publication, indexing or a particular timetable.
Prohibited conduct
Users must not upload malicious code, probe security controls, scrape restricted records, disrupt the service, manipulate peer review, breach confidentiality, or use journal data for unsolicited marketing. JPBS may restrict access while suspected misconduct or a security incident is investigated.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are governed by journal scope, evidence, ethics and peer review. These terms do not create a right to acceptance or override the complaints and appeals policy. Commercial, personal or institutional relationships must not determine an editorial outcome.
Availability and external services
The site may depend on third-party authentication, storage, email and identifier services. JPBS may suspend a feature for maintenance or security and does not warrant uninterrupted availability. External links are provided for reference and remain governed by their operators.
Liability and governing requirements
Content is provided for scholarly communication and is not clinical, legal or regulatory advice. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that applicable law does not permit the journal to exclude. Questions should be directed to the journal office before relying on a policy for a jurisdiction-specific purpose.
Enforcement and changes
JPBS may remove unlawful content, preserve evidence, suspend access, or refer suspected misconduct to relevant institutions or authorities where appropriate. Material changes are published on this page and apply prospectively unless a legal or integrity obligation requires otherwise.
